Fran Odum, P.S.A.
Francoise Marie-Berthe Odum-Craig was born and educated in France where
she began her serious art studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Southern
France. In 1958 she came to the United States and settled in the Midwest.
But it was ten years later, after a move to Arizona, that she began
applying her keen sense of observation to the pastel and watercolor
wildlife paintings that have become so popular. Fran's painting style
enhances the simple beauty of nature, and showcases her acute sensitivity
to her environment. She is a full member of the Pastel Society of
America (P.S.A.) and won the Society's prestigious Columbus Citizens
Award at the P.S.A. 10th Annual Exhibit at the National Arts Club in
New York. Fran has published numerous limited edition prints of her
wildlife pastel paintings, and she is one of the artists featured in
the Wildlife Art News 1987-1988 and the 1988-1989 International Artists
Profile Yearbook. Fran's award-winning work has also been exhibited with
the Los Angeles Audubon Society, Ducks Unlimited, Pastel Society of the
West Coast, Safari Club International, and the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe
Art Club, and the 1989 won their Mary Hill Memorial Award.
